Hot off the press, we can announce that Area Sales Manager, Donovan Watkins, has just passed his FDIS examination. Donovan is now a Certificated Fire Door Inspector, the highest qualification possible, after already passing the FDIS Diploma last year. Well done Donovan!

Article 17 of the Fire Safety Order makes it a legal requirement to ensure that fire resisting doors and escape doors are correctly installed and adequately maintained in order for them to be fit for purpose.

The authorities have the power to enforce the Fire Safety Order and do prosecute or even close buildings down where breaches are discovered. Building owners need ‘competent persons’ as referenced in the Fire Safety Order to help them comply with fire door regulations. The FDIS education programmes provide the path to becoming that competent person.
